It is really very much disheartening that our Home Minister Mr. Shivraj Patil has compared the case of Mr. Sorabjit with that of Supreme Court Convict Mr. Afzal Guru. It will be the saddest day when Mr. Afzal Guru who is sentenced to death by The highest Court of the country for his involvement in attack on Parliament will be released in lieu of release of Mr. Sorabjit by Pakistan government who is considered to be innocent since long.
Mr. Shivraj Patil is considered to be the most experienced minister in Congress lead UPA government. But his latest stand on execution of Afzal Guru will prove him very costly. Already the people of India are very much unhappy for delay in hanging of Mr. Afzal.
It clearly proves that present government is working under pressure not only from foreign based terrorist and their propeller Pakistan government but also from enemies in disguise of friend working from our own country, our own government.
A hard core terrorist was released by BJP led NDA government just to give new life to almost 300 hostages who were crying and begging for life before Pakistan sponsored terrorists who had hijacked Indian aero plane. Release of one person saved the life of more than 300 innocent persons, but the Congress led UPA government has been relentlessly blaming and blackmailing BJP for their action of taking one terrorist to Kandhar.
Whenever there is talk of rising terrorism in India during the tenure of UPA government, Congress reminds BJP the attacks on Parliament and some other temples. Even if it is assumed that BJP failed to show significant results in stopping terrorism, Congress Party has no moral right to cause free hand to terrorist and always seek reason for their failure in the past deed of NDA. Congress Party removed POTA from law book and gave a message to our enemies that due to dirty politics and corruption prevailing in India, terrorist can cause any damage and any devastating attack in India and run away without punishment. Even if court punishes any of their gang members, they can compel Indian government to release the culprits.
There is no doubt that BJP left no stone unturned to stop terrorist activities. It is under the regime of Atal Bihari Vajpayee that chronic enemy country Pakistan was made to realize that Indian Muslim are more happy in India than their counterpart in Islamic country Pakistan. On the other hand Congress party is unable to keep happy Muslims inspite of limitless appeasement to Muslims. Congress Party has been loosing in all state election but not ready to understand the ground reality.
Now the statement of Mr. Patil on Agzal Guru will add fuel to fire and Congress Party will face severe jolt in the next election. Undoubtedly Congress Party has to retreat from such statement and teach Mr. Patil a lesson so that he may not repeat such blunder in future just to please Muslim at the cost of Indian image in the International forum.
